Yoga and Meditation school for Lismore
The Saraswati School of Yoga invites all yogis and new enthusiasts in the region to book in for yoga intensives now or come for a casual class at the new Lismore location.
Inspiration for this form of yoga is traced back to the Sivananda linage of Yoga, where traditional teachings were later passed down through Swami Satyananda, and have been adapted to suit the needs of modern times.
Local teachers working from the school mostly have their backgrounds in Satyananda Yoga, yet other styles such as Japanese Ki Yoga are available. The Saraswati School of Yoga accepts there are many different paths to health and happiness, and encourages participants to find the class most suitable for their personality and individual needs.
Yoga can be practiced by all shapes and sizes. If unfit, or recovering from an illness, particular yogic practices can also aid in recovery. Classes taught in the Satyananda style include gentle Asana (postures), Pranayama (breath awareness), Meditation and Yoga Nidra (relaxation).

In addition to yoga classes, gallery space is available for student exhibitions, and every third Saturday of the month a free Kirtan (singing) program will be offered for anyone interested.
On offer starting next week are yoga intensives for beginners, progressive classes (for those who have already practiced any form of yoga) and an intensive for women's health and balance. Casual classes will also run for kids (toddlers welcome), prenatal women, senior citizens, students, women, teenagers and men.
A real highlight of the Saraswati School is the early morning classes held Monday to Saturday from 6.30am to 8am.
