Organic and Indian
Proprietor
of Sadabahar Foods and Aladdins Curry Shoppe, Naaz Iqbal, with some of the fabulous Indian take-away food, organic produce and local products available
at the store.
Whether youre looking for a gourmet Indian curry, a large range of spices, organic fruit and vegetables, chemical-free mushrooms or locally-manufactured
products, Sadabahar Foods and Aladdins Curry Shoppe in Lismore is the place to go.
The shop (formerly known as the McKenzie Street Store) is owned and operated by Doc and Naaz Iqbal, who are committed to delivering the best produce
at the cheapest prices possible.
Doc says the business is already renowned for having the best fish and chips in town and they also make delicious Indian curries (such as
rice and dahl with raita) from $2 and up, as well as a range of gourmet curries. These curries can be pre-ordered for busy people who want a wholesome lunch
or dinner, and Doc and Naaz can also cater for parties and functions with one weeks notice. Another major drawcard for the store is the 100 per cent
vegie hot chips they sell, which are coated with cholesterol-free vegetable oil.
Recently Doc and Naaz decided to expand the business, and they now stock beautiful fresh organic fruit and vegetables, a range of local products such
as coffee and jams, as well as wholefoods. These are all sold at the lowest possible price, and Doc and Naaz are always looking for more local suppliers
of organic produce and products to purchase from.
Doc and Naaz have run McKenzie Street Store and Takeaway for five years, however, many people would also know them from the local markets where they
still sell their Ettrick mushrooms and their own range of spices, pickles, curry mixes and chutneys.
The shop is open 10am-5pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and from 10am to 7pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
