Established in May 2002, Terry Nixon from Niko's Bobcat says that he must be doing something right since he is now receiving an increasing number of calls from throughout the region. Based in Evans Head, Terry is now regularly taking on jobs in Alstonville, Lismore, and Goonellabah.
"I've always believed that something has to distinguish one business from another. When I started out I decided to focus on the service aspect of the business. I can guarantee a prompt and friendly expert service at a reasonable rate," he said.
"I've steadily been receiving calls from further afield so my philosophy must be paying off."
Some of the attachments Terry operates include an augur, trencher, levelling bar, rock grabber, and single tine ripper. And he'll also take on rubbish removal jobs.
Niko's Bobcat offers all the services you'd expect plus a few more. "I've also got a 3.5 tonne Kubota excavator which means I can offer a more all-round service. I can attach the augur, for example, to both the bobcat and the excavator. In the past, if there hasn't been access for the bobcat, I've been able to fit the augur to the excavator instead. This offers a useful solution," Terry said.
Terry's customers are not confined to one type either. "I do a lot of work with builders and contractors, but I also work regularly with owner builders and individuals who might have more modest requirements," he said.
