Lismore Timezone proprietors Graeme and Ann Hoskins, with retail manager Leanne Bartlett.
If youre thinking of buying a watch or clock for a loved one this Christmas, theres simply nowhere else to look but Lismore Timezone.
Proprietor Graeme Hoskins has spent his entire working life at Lismore Timezone he trained as an apprentice under the former owner after leaving school in 1968, before taking over the business with his wife Ann in 1996.
Today Graeme and Ann run the store with help from retail manager Leanne Bartlett, experienced watchmaker Dennis Rose, and Nathan Rose, who is currently a second year apprentice with the business.
Its fairly rare to find a business with two watchmakers outside a big city, so we are quite unique in that we have two fully qualified watchmakers on staff, another one on the way and a retail manager with 10 years experience a very wide product knowledge, Graeme said. I literally have a lifetime of experience in the industry or at least 34 years worth so we know the trade inside and out. We still do a lot of the hands-on work, which really keeps us up-to-date with industry changes, and were members of the Horological Guild of Australia, so theres very little were not familiar with.
To give customers the best service possible and to ensure efficiency and accuracy, Graeme and Ann have resisted the trend to branch out into other areas of sales and repair.
We purely and simply concentrate on selling and repairing watches and clocks thats what weve made out name doing and we plan to continue doing just that, Graeme said. We dont do jewellery or anything else we focus all our efforts on watches and clocks, and providing an old-fashioned, friendly and affordable service to our customers.
