Most people agree that if you enjoy your job you do it well, so who better to fix your vehicle than a local car enthusiast.
Greg Woolley from Lismore Service Centre began tinkering with cars both professionally and in his spare time shortly after leaving high school, and more than three decades later he still hasn’t had enough.
Not only does Greg spend all day (and often weekends!) working on other people’s cars, but he also spends what little spare time he has restoring classic cars in his garage.
“I mainly collect old British cars like Triumphs and MGs, and at the moment in the shop I’m working on an old Jaguar, a 1933 Humber and a Maserati Sebring,” Greg said. “I’ve always had a love of old cars I guess – it was just something that really appealed to me. I was born into the industry you could say, as my family owned a wrecking yard in Lismore when I was young. And believe it or not after 33 years I still love working in the industry.”
Greg has owned and operated Lismore Service Centre for the last 22 years with his wife Pam. Currently they employ three staff – qualified mechanics Noel Hensen and Joel Burney, and fourth year apprentice Matthew Latimer.
Lismore Service Centre can provide mechanical repairs on all makes and models of cars, specialising in Volkswagen, Subaru, Mini, Range Rover and Discovery as well as all classic cars. There is also a full range of very competitively priced spare parts.
Greg and his team can do everything from an oil change to a complete engine rebuild, and all work is guaranteed. Anyone who has their car serviced with Greg also receives a complimentary tyre detail, dash and floor vacuum – so you not only get back a fixed car, but a clean one too.
Lismore Service Centre has a pick-up and delivery service for busy customers, and there is plenty of parking available at the premises – 19 Three Chain Road, in the South Lismore Industrial Estate.
