Beautiful Jewellery from Ballina

If you’re looking for fresh, original Australian jewellery designs or a unique one-off piece for someone special this Christmas, look no further than La Mystique in Ballina.

Proprietor Tiffany-Lee spent some years working in Sydney with Australian jewellery designer Lisa Carney (who produces the Mamo Jo range), before deciding to head north in August for a change of lifestyle.

“When I moved here I couldn’t find unique jewellery designs or specialised ranges, so I decided to create it for myself and open La Mystique,” Tiffany-Lee said. “Not only are the pieces absolutely stunning, but we make it easy for customers and we’ll happily wrap, tie and tag anything – it’s all part of the specialised service.”

Tiffany-Lee has a number of labels that are exclusive to her store, at sometimes half the price they are normally sold for in places like Brisbane or Sydney.

One of the most popular ranges is the all-new collection of Mamo Jo jewellery, which largely includes mother-of-pearl and New Zealand Paua shell pieces, and some designs made with beautiful Arizona turquoise.

Tiffany-Lee has a selection of Palas pieces, such as solid silver neckwires and pendants with mother-of-pearl and Arizona turquoise and, some with black Onyx and delicate Czechoslovakian crystal.

The 22-carat gold coated on sterling silver earrings are for the woman who enjoys understated elegance, while the striking one-off pieces such as the silver mesh choker with fresh water pearls reflect individuality and style.

“We cater for the whole spectrum of women’s tastes,” Tiffany-Lee said. “There are pieces you can wear with a bikini at the beach or with an evening dress at dinner, and the great thing is 80 per cent of all the stock is Australian designed.”

As well as jewellery La Mystique has colourful hairclips from WA designer Loo Taylor, and a variety of unusual belts, brooches and chokers from Mamo Jo and Tribu.

Tiffany-Lee also stocks the new Catherine Manuell bags, clutch purses and luggage in bright patterned leather and 3D designs – a favourite with ladies already.

La Mystique is at 2/45 River Street (inside Dreamweaver) and people are welcome to drop in for a browse and a chat with Tiffany-Lee seven day a week. For info phone 6686 4751.
