Everything you need for your horse
Chris Allen congratulates Annie Chreighton on her gold and silver medals, won in the dressage event at the Lismore Masters games.
When Chris and Robyn Allen opened the doors of their North Lismore canvas shop just over 30 years ago they had no idea what direction their business would take. Now they are the proprietors of one of the region's leading saddlery and country clothing stores Horseland in Bridge Street, North Lismore.
"We started getting a couple of requests to repair horse rugs and things started getting very equestrian from there. It was a combination of customer demand and our own interest in horses," said Chris.
They bought the Lismore Horseland franchise "because it gave us a worldwide product reach to source the very best," Robyn explained. "The benefit also extends to our volume of stock. For instance we have over 130 saddles in-store."
Horseland provides a saddle-fitting service for their customers. They will bring the saddle to your property to fit the saddle for both horse and rider prior to the purchase. All staff have the nationally accredited 'Saddle Fit Certificate'.
The Horseland staff are all at the top of their field. Jodie Ryan, 17, is the current Horseland National Employee of the Month, while Annie Creighton won dressage gold and silver at the Lismore Masters Games.
Other specialists in the team include Vicki Gaillard and Gloria Parker. Vicki's life is centred on showing Arabians while Gloria is a hack and pony club specialist. their newest staff member, 16-year-old Bek Baxter, is a very promising rider in the show ring.
Horseland is at 63 Bridge St, Nth Lismore. Phone 6621 3296.
