Joinery spans generations

Quality joinery and timber merchants Hampton and Larsson is Lismore's proof that 'the more things change, the more they stay the same'.
The company has been providing handcrafted joinery works and timber for the Northern Rivers area for more than 60 years, but was recently put on the market. In a move that ensured that the company stayed in the family the new owners are Chari Larsson and her partner Scott Coppin. Chari is the third generation of the family to be at the helm.
Not long back they were living in Sydney and looking for an established company to purchase. While Sydney offered a number of options Chari and Scott were attracted to Chari's family business of Hampton and Larsson here in Lismore.
"Here is a company that has been able to attract repeat customers from across the Lismore, Ballina and Byron region for sixty years. Customer satisfaction says something about a company," Scott said.
"The quality of the work that comes out of the workshop was a major influence," Chari added. "In joinery the experience and approach to quality assurance is critical. Over half of the trade staff completed their apprenticeships right here at Hampton and Larsson. Even now we have four apprentices on the books. That is how the craft of joinery is traditionally passed on."
Every piece manufactured at the Hampton and Larsson workshop is individually crafted to meet customer orders, from builders or architect specifications.
In particular Hampton and Larsson specialise in bi-folding timber doors and windows.
As they are also timber-merchants they have an outstanding range of quality timbers on-hand to suit the requirements of every order.
