When Matt Barber established C&M Garage Doors in Alstonville eight years ago, all he had was a rented shed, a van and a passion to make the business
work.
Matt’s small business has since grown to become the largest garage door service provider in the Northern Rivers.It has been named one of the top
10 dealers in the Queensland region by B&D Australia for the last two years.
Matt does supply and installation for many reputable builders in the area. Currently he runs the business with his wife, Barbara, and three staff –
Jason Creighton, Aaron Hunt and Chris Heinritz.
About six weeks ago Matt moved the business into new-custom-built premises in the Russellton Industrial Estate, which contains an office, workshop and
garage door display unit. C&M Garage Doors is the only business of its kind with a display, and Matt says it was just something extra he wanted to provide
for his customers.
“A lot of clients actually want to see the product working because it gives them peace of mind, and we decided the easiest way to provide this was
through a display,” Matt said. “It’s actually quite important for clients to see what the garage door looks like in reality. For instance,
the colours in the brochure often look a little different when painted on the door, and people want to know these sorts of things before it’s been
installed. Plus people can easily check out different doors and see first-hand the special functions and features of each different door. It’s been
a great investment.”
As well as selling a huge range of garage doors and openers, C&M Garage Doors does service and repairs for most makes of garage doors. The business can
also provide people with garage door locks, second remotes, new rollers, weather seals and all manner of garage door accessories.
