For more than two decades Coastal Telephone Services, the accredited Ericsson dealer on the north coast, has provided services to the residents of Lismore,
Casino, Ballina, Byron Bay, Murwillumbah and Tweed Heads.
Coastal Telephone Services has been operated by Tony and Julie Smith locally for the past 14 years, since the deregulation of PABX services in 1989.
The company provides telecommunication services as its prime source of business, combining many products and services to provide customers with a comprehensive
and reliable communications service.
Currently Coastal Telephone Services provide the following services:

- Ericsson cordless networks
- Cisco Routers, Jtec Multiplexers
- Optical fibre installation and networks
- Ericsson Key Systems

- Sony video conference equipment; and
- Computer network cabling
These types of services can be provided by Coastal Telephone Services during business hours, or customers can organise a 24 hour contract. Currently
the business employs six full-time technical, sales and support staff – who together provide services to more than 200 customers in the Northern Rivers
region.
Ericsson PABX services and switching equipment is used by many large businesses and organisations. These include Northern Rivers Area Health Service
hospitals in Lismore, Casino, Ballina, Nimbin, Byron Bay, Mullumbimby, Murwillumbah and Tweed Heads.
The services are also used by the NSW North Coast Institute of TAFE, NSW Agriculture, Ballina and Byron Shire Councils, and many other local businesses.
Coastal Telephone Services have excelled in the telecommunications field, a statement well justified by its many awards. The business won Ericsson Most
