The graduation exhibition is the culmination of three and half years study for the 13 participants, who are all from very different artistic backgrounds. Throughout the course the students practice almost every technique imaginable including painting, printmaking, traditional and wooden sculpture, ceramics, life drawing, silk screening and multimedia art.
The use of so many different techniques makes for a very diverse exhibition, which local art teacher Rene Bolton describes as "a healthy mix of explosions and silence. Of 'I know what this is' to 'what the hell is that?'"
It's vibrant, dynamic and it's showing off the best of north coast talent. Diplomacy will be opened by Lismore Regional Art Gallery director Bronwyn Larner tomorrow, June 27, at 5.30pm in the Drill Hall at Lismore TAFE. Entertainment will be provided by folk band Black Train and classical pianist Sylvia Lyte. All are welcome.
