The exhibition explores the alternative movement in Australia over the last three decades, and particular events that happened in the Northern Rivers. Works by more than a hundred photographers, writers and political commentators are featured in the exhibition.
Their artworks detail the region's rich and colourful history, from the first day of the 1973 Aquarius Festival to the heated Terania Creek protests, the more recent Mardi Grass festivals and the ongoing battle against the Timbarra gold mine.
Some Children of the Dream is a fascinating snapshot of alternative life on the north coast, and is well worth the lovely drive out to Nimbin.
The exhibition will be on show until May 25. |
