The artists chose the title D ISJ OIN TED as they felt it reflected the eclectic nature of the collection, which includes quite a diversity of artworks considering there are only two exhibiting artists. Thea's latest artistic offerings include abstract paintings, ceramic artworks and life drawings - a varied collection of works that range from pencil sketches to vividly-coloured paintings.
"A lot of my work is based on life drawings which I play around with later, exaggerating nuances or perspectives," Thea said. "Like most artists a lot of my time is spent exploring form, textures and mediums."
Rodney's latest artworks are a beautiful collection of ghostly paintings that have a surreal and dream-like quality - a far cry from the bright colours and bold lines of Thea's work.
Rodney, who started his career doing portrait art, says his latest works "take me in to inner worlds and warehouses of past experiences, some my own". D ISJ OIN TED will be opened at the gallery tomorrow night, with entertainment provided by local poets and musicians. The exhibition is on show until July 21. The gallery is open daily from 10am-4pm.
