An exhibition by members of the locally-based ArtAbout Art Group is on show at the Lismore Regional Gallery until the end of this weekend.

The exhibition, ArtAbout, features a few artworks from each member of the group, resulting in a diverse show that spans many mediums including oil painting, sculpture, metalwork and pencil sketches.

The ArtAbout group was formed in 1999 by Northern Rivers artists who wanted to share ideas and inspire one another. The group regularly travels to areas around Tabulam and Nymboida, where they hold artist camps.

Artists featured in the exhibition include Margaret E Brown, Keith Cameron, Pam Cowgill, Noel Gibson, Jan Greentree and Lyn Shearer.

"Most members live in artistic isolation, so the opportunity to talk shop with fellow artists and the camaraderie that evolves is artistically stimulating and enjoyable,' group spokesperson, Pat Jenkins, said.

ArtAbout also features a series of postcard size artworks entitled Postcards from Hungry Heads, and all money raised from the sale of these will go to the local Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Service in Lismore.

The Postcards from Hungry Heads are all mounted, ready for framing and are on sale for $50 each.
