American Pie 2 (MA)
Directed by
James B Rogers
I can't say this is a sequel I was hanging out for.
Part II in the Harry Potter series
yes! The second installment (or should I say 5th) in the Star Wars Saga
of course! And all of the Lord of the Rings movies, most definitely!
But American Pie 2? Groan.
I was pretty well sated after a single helping of the first American Pie, could I really handle another serve?
Surprisingly, yes! And even more surprisingly I had a good time.
Okay, I'm the first to admit that I'm at least 20 years over the recommended viewing age for this particular genre of film the teenage comedy, also known as A Young Person's Guide to Getting Laid.
Not that I'd really recommended any of the methods employed by the five young studs of American Pie 2 although they do all eventually score, so maybe there is a method in their madness.
Yep, they're back! All the old gang from the original American Pie and despite being a year older and (hopefully) a year wiser after making it through the first year of college, nothing much has changed.
Oz (Chris Klein) is still hopelessly devoted to his girlfriend (Mena Suvari), Finch (Eddie Kaye Thomas) has discovered Tantra, but can't forget Stifler's Mum (Jennifer Coolidge), Kevin (Thomas Ian Nicholas) wants to be more than just good friends with his ex-girlfriend Vicky (Tara Reid), Stifler (Sean William Scott) just wants to get laid by anyone (although preferably a female) and Jim (Jason Biggs)
well he's got a hot date with an X-rated video and a tube of superglue.
Thank God, his dad (Eugene Levy) is so understanding.
Those crazy guys, you've gotta love them! Well, not really, but if you're young and horny and a cerebral workout is the last thing on your mind, then sit back and enjoy.
