Uki-based calligrapher Ruth Venner, who recently curated an International Calligraphy Exhibition for the Tweed River Regional Gallery, is holding a solo exhibition of her work at the newly formed Nimbin Regional Gallery.

The exhibition features a collection of artworks using both beautiful older calligraphy techniques and new development in both traditional Western and Eastern calligraphy. The blend of culture is delightfully different and unique. Some of the contemporary works feature Australian birds and plants or landscapes like Mount Warning combined with calligraphy, while others are more focused on traditional Eastern symbols.

The demonstrations will be held at 2pm on each of these days. School teachers are particularly encouraged to bring along their art classes for the demonstrations, which will be followed by question and answer sessions.
