Curated by Akash Waddell, the exhibition features artworks done by clients of three mental health clinics – Lismore's Richmond Clinic, Ballina's Nexus and Mullumbimby's Bay Ami.

Made possible through funding from the National Mental Health Incentive Program, Art for Health's Sake is a confronting exhibition exploring many themes, including family, relationships and dreams.

While the images demonstrate a high level of creative ability among the clients, they also reflect the suffering associated with mental illness and the feelings of confusion and isolation often experienced by the clients.

Art for Health's Sake also includes artworks by local artist Marko Koludrovic, who has worked as a part-time art space therapist at Richmond Clinic for the last 10 years. An accomplished artist, Marko is also a painting and drawing lecturer at Southern Cross University. The artwork he has included in the exhibition is part of his PhD studies, theorising that men's health issues relate to their mental health.

Art for Health's Sake is on show until November 25.
