The works featured in the free exhibition have been created in the last year by the Lismore Art Club's members, who hold tutorials monthly with a special guest artist.

The exhibition is also a competition with six different categories – landscape or seascape, any subject/any medium, watercolour, drawing, still life/any medium and portrait or genre.

The artworks will be judged by the Lismore Regional Art Gallery's education and public programs officer, Maree Nelson.

'The exhibition includes beginners and professionals both young and old so there's a huge variety of talent on display,' Lismore Art Club spokesperson, Terry Wells, said.

'It's quite astounding how many talented artists reside in the local area and this exhibition gives all artists a chance to publicly show their work on equal terms.

'As well as the club's exhibition, there's a special celebrity artist display from Kyogle-based artist Wendy McGain and a special section with paintings created by the students at Wilson Park Special School.'

The exhibition is open Friday and Saturday from 10.30am– 8.30pm and on Sunday from 10.30am–3pm.

If you're interested in joining the Lismore Art Club, their next meeting is on Saturday, August 18 at Wilson Park Special School from 9am–3pm.
