Pennant Play-Offs

Teams from the Northern Rivers District Women's Bowling Association performed admirably in the Pennant group play-off held at Brunswick last week.

They bagged three of the four titles and were runners-up in the fourth. Congratulations to Ballina 1 who were runners-up in Grade One, Casino RSM 1 who won Grade Two, Evans Head who won Grade Three and Lismore Workers Heights, winners of Grade Four. Well done, ladies, and very best wishes and good luck in the State play-off later this year.

Remember, ladies, that this Saturday, June 30, a women's bowls social competition commences at Workers Heights - single names in by 12.30pm for a 1pm start. Sunday is the monthly nominated mixed pairs, same starting time - single names are welcome if you don't have a partner.

Alstonville BC will be holding its Annual Carnival on July 21 and 22. On the Saturday, men's pairs is the format with three rounds of 14 ends after a 9am start. Sponsors Wappett & Partners and Sarwood Timbers will provide generous prize money - $300 for winners, $150 for runners-up and $26 for round winners. The entry fee of $26 per team includes eats. On Sunday, Mixed Versatile Sixes (teams of three men and three women) is the format with two rounds of 18 ends and a 9.30am start. Prize money totalling over $750 will be distributed. The nomination fee of $15 per head includes a delicious Roast on a Spit luncheon. Entries to the Bowls Office on 6628 0479 or the Club on 6628 7194.

In August, from Friday 3 to Monday 6, Workers Heights will hold its Annual Pairs Festival with a total prize pool of over $2000. Open Men's Pairs is the format on Friday comprising three rounds (each one a different variety of pairs) after a 9.15am start. Entry fee of $30 per team includes lunch. Mixed Versatile Pairs (teams of four, two men and two women) is the format on Sunday. Three games will be played after a 9.15am start and entry fee of $60 for the team includes lunch. An Open Medley Pairs event (men, women, mixed) will take place on Monday with a noon start and two games being played. The cost is $15 per team which includes afternoon tea. Entry forms are available from Tournament Co-ordinator John Kinsella, or by phoning the club on 6624 3040.

Coaching Tip

Here are some more practical pointers following on from last week.

  • Underestimating an opponent can be a mistake - how often has a David overcome a Goliath?
  • Taking it easy on a poorer bowler is an insult to him/her.
  • Dropping, dumping or bouncing bowls on the rink surface is to be avoided always.
  • If you ease up when you have a good lead in the score, you may lose your momentum. Treat each end as if it is the first.

Umpire's Corner

Law 52A Playing out of turn continued (ii) If the bowl has come to rest in such a position that it would be considered dead it shall not be replayed and the opposing team shall deliver two bowls in succession to restore the correct order.

Until next week,
good bowling.

Pennants Completed

NRDGA

There will be a junior coaching camp at Lake Ainsworth from July 8-13.

The District final of the Mazda four ball stableford will be held at Ballina on July 8.

The Pennants were completed last Sunday with 12 different clubs winning a pennant.

Congratulations to the Coolangatta-Tweed Heads team who won the division one Pennant by defeating Lismore 7-0. The game was a lot closer than the score indicated with a couple of games won on the 18th. Well done Lismore.

Well done to all the other winning sides and also the clubs who provided their courses for the entire Pennant season.

Ballina

On Saturday the members will take part in a teams stableford event (best three out of four) while the ladies play a single stableford.

The RSL will hold their monthly mug and round one of the champos on this Sunday

Peter Wilson won the single stableford last Wednesday from John Edwards and Keith Myers.

Barry Audsley won the single stroke last Friday from Stuart McDowell and Clyde Titcume.

Michael Dakin found himself a good partner in Arthur Colledge last Saturday, the pair taking out the 4BBB stroke from Ron Johnstone and John Stanton. In the cadets Grant Astley, Josh Carrick, Steve Hodder and Michael Wilson won the A grade ambrose four; Shannon McDermott and Shawn Haysom won the B grade and Gus McFarlane the C grade.

Casino

There will be a single stableford played this Saturday as the final of the four ball knock out.

The final of the matchplay champos is on July 7 and will double as the monthly medal.

The Ron Howard Memorial four ball event was played last Saturday and it was great to see the Howard family participate in the presentation. John Flick and Max Casey beat early birds Ray Stock and Adam Shields by two points, showing the early bird doesn't necessarily get the worm!

Mark Formaggin won the single stroke last Thursday from Terry llewellyn. Brad McLennan won the ten hole event.

Well done to the two winning pennant teams, led by Dennis Westerman (div 7) and Brian Bevan (div 9).

Lismore

A 2BBB stableford will be played in conjunction with a single this Saturday.

The monthly medal will be played in three grades on Saturday, July 7.

Bob Carlson won the single stableford last Thursday from Les Amour and Barry Hart. Joe Mielcarek won the first nine from John Cupitt. Chris Evans took out the second nine from Mick Morrissey with Lismore talent, Lloyd Kelly winning the gross with a fine 3 under par round of 67.

Well done to Charlie's Angels pennant team for their win last Sunday, especially junior, Reece Smith, who was 3 down after three and won his match. Young, true grit!

Talented golfer, Nicole Jenkins took out the club title in the ladies champos and Betty Whitelaw won the net. Nola Lobban won division 2 and Jan Rogers the net and Margaret Riordan won division 3 and Mary Gardiner division 4. Margaret Hayes is the veterans' champion and the Super vet champo went to Norma Underwood.

Woodburn-Evans Head

A single v par event will be played this Saturday.

The July mug will be played in three grades the following Saturday.

Irene Crampton won A grade in the round three championship stroke event last Wednesday. Nancy Webb won B grade and Gillie Walker C grade.

Dot Cox won A grade last Saturday, Nancy Webb took out B grade and Marie Kerr won C grade.

Jack Scheibel won the veterans' 12 hole stroke event last Thursday.

Irene Crampton continued her domination of the course last Saturday, winning the single stableford from Shirley Payne and Helen Connell.

Jim Perkins won the RSL event last Sunday.

Tackle the Size Issue

Fishing wise some people had a good weekend and some did not.

The fish managed to hide from most of us again last weekend. Those who did snag a feed, caught mainly bream and tailor.

Some big fish were weighed in over the weekend. Like a 5kg flathead that was caught off Lennox Headland and a 18.5kg jew from Flatrock.

One thing that we have never touched on here at The Echo is the humble tackle box. What is the ideal tackle box? I know blokes that have confiscated the wife's sewing box or raided the Tupperware cupboard to have something to hold the hoards of knick knacks that they might need one day.

For me, I like to keep it simple. With most places accessible only by foot, I like to travel light. Some sinkers, a selection of hooks, a spinner lure, swivels, blockout, a fish ruler and a couple of knives in a shoulder bag. That's it. Simple and light.

This is mainly stocked from a tackle box I keep at home. This has all the extra bits and pieces that I might need plus all the stuff I thought I would need.

There is a big difference in what is carried in a tackle box today compared to that of 30 or 40 years ago. If you look at my dad's tackle box it is pretty simple and colourless. Yet in mine there are coloured sinkers, plastic baits and tubes of fish scents, just to name a few items.

Are we losing our basic fishing principles in light of the new products that are marketed in a way which suggests that you will not catch fish without the product?

You see anglers open up a Pandora's box of stuff that is like a compact tackle shop. Nine times out of ten they never use the stuff they buy but at the time it caught their eye it looked like a bargain.

If you look after your gear, very rarely will it fail you while fishing. Plus it is not a good idea to try and fix reels on the beach or in a boat. I know from experience.

Most species use similar rigs. So there is no need for all the gear to be carried. Keep your main supply at home and you will achieve longer life out of the tackle you do not use regularly.

The main items should be a fish ruler and in today's environment - blockout. After this put in what you want.

Hopefully this weekend will be kind to us. Good trag and squire are plentiful off Evans Head. The bream are around the walls at dusk and before dawn. Most successful bait has been pillies.

Tailor and bream are right along the coast. If chasing bream off the beaches the best bait has been mullet or bonito.

Offshore of Ballina, Gazza from Ballina Charters is reporting not great numbers of catches but quality size. Pigfish, rosy jobfish, and pearl perch have been the main catch for his patrons.

Until next week fun fishing.

Watch the Wallabies

Mullumbimby with a rare break against Lismore in the Far North Coast Rugby Union Comp. Lismore won 48-7.Mullumbimby with a rare break against Lismore in the Far North Coast Rugby Union Comp. Lismore won 48-7.

Big scores were registered at all Far North Coast rugby grounds last weekend following some impressive, if predictable, performances by a number of teams.

Ballina did as expected to Wollongbar, winning 38-7, Lismore dispatched Mullumbimby 48-7 and Grafton did away with a depleted SCU to the tune of 46-5.

The only surprise of the round was the 22-3 victory of Casino over barnstorming Byron Bay - showing that the men from the West are by no means out of the running just yet.

The Byron backs could not gain an advantage with the more efficient Casino forwards dominating possession, and it will be this problem that will hamper the Bay boys all year.

At Lismore, the game was second to the sight of the Lismore boys shaving their heads to raise money for Camp Quality.

Mullum never really had a hope in hell, and it pains me to say that.

SCU were without most of their First Grade contingent against Grafton, however the Redmen played strong footy and deserved their victory.

As expected the Ballina backs triumphed over their Wollongbar counterparts to give their team yet another five competition points.

The 'Bar will need to address this backline inconsistency before the finals if they are to stand a chance.

There is no local rugby this week as there is a general bye to allow for the British and Irish Lions test match against the Wallabies (not that any of us can get tickets with which to make use of the bye).

This means you can all have a week off to go fishing or such like, but make sure you are home by 7.30pm to catch the game.

It will most likely be a heated encounter but one dominated by the phase play and defence of the Wallabies.

But there will be no love lost between the two - with the memories of the brutally violent Lions Tour of 1989 still fresh and combined with Saturday's stink of a game against NSW, it will be one to remember.

Wallabies by 10

And on that NSW-Lions game - I know we don't condone violence on the rugger field, but it is my opinion that if someone is belting you in the face, you first see if the officials will do something, and if they don't - you do.

This whole stir involving NSW fullback, Duncan McRae, tenderising the head of British and Irish Lion centre, Ronan O'Gara is due to the persistent - and very deliberate - tactics of the Lions in using any means possible to put the more professional Australian players off their game, including stomping, punching, elbowing and some others I won't mention.

At some point, somebody was going to get fed up with it - and McRae sure didn't miss O'Gara when this happened!

Now look which team is up in arms about the biffo - but nobody has ever accused the Poms of being whingers have they?

North Coast Raise Curtain

Two local representative rugby union teams played curtain raisers for the British and Irish Lions versus New South Wales Country Cockatoos match at Coffs Harbour last Tuesday.

The North Coast Academy of Sport (NCAS) played the under 16 Brisbane Wests development team as the first curtain raiser and then the North Coast under 19 dolphins took on New England.

NCAS went down 19-15 but played very constructive, creative rugby.

North Coast under 19 inside centre, Daniel Rose on the burst against New England last Tuesday.North Coast under 19 inside centre, Daniel Rose on the burst against New England last Tuesday.

Under 19s North Coast (which is an amalgam of Far North Coast and Mid North Coast) were out-muscled by the larger New England side and lost 19-7. North Coast were pushed backwards at the rucks and mauls by the New England pack and turned the ball over too many times.

The NCAS game was a chance for local boys to impress officials from their 'supporter club' Brisbane Wests. Brisbane Wests provides a pathway for rugby players from the North Coast who wish to continue playing after they finish school. NSW Academy of Sport development officer Murray Archibald is very pleased with the program.

"The concept has been really successful with two North Coast boys accepting scholarships to Brisbane schools for their final year. The North Coast of NSW is an untapped nursery of rugby talent with a lot of promising players," Archibald said.

The next game for the NCAS will be again against the Brisbane Wests development team on August 22 as the curtain raiser for the NSW schools versus English Schools.

Rams and Bobcats in Two Horse Race

Rovers striker, Tony Harrison, showing the aggression that helped them to a 3-1 win over Souths last week.

Rovers striker, Tony Harrison, showing the aggression that helped them to a 3-1 win over Souths last week.

Byron Bay and Maclean have pulled away from the chasing pack and look set for a two-way battle for Soccer FNC's premier division pointscore championship, but both face tough games on Saturday to maintain their momentum.

Byron Bay travel to Lismore to take on a Thistles' lineup determined to cement a place in the top three, while Maclean host defending premiers Italo Stars, who are desperate to break back into the top five after a disappointing 1-0 loss to Ballina last week.

Both games start at 3pm.

The Bay bounced back from their first loss of the season with last weeks solid 3-1 win over Alstonville, but cannot afford a slip-up against Thistles if the Rams are to claim their first ever premiership.

With three key players missing, coach Graham Bird will be forced to revamp the Rams lineup.

Sweeper Aaron Rickter-Steers, midfielder Jens Walter and flanker Tim Bird are all unavailable, but with Canadian midfielder James Lister back for his first game and defender Andrew Marks returning from injury, the Rams will lose little.

Thistles are still missing striker Steve Morrissey, but his partner in crime, Daniel Braithwaite, is back. His combination with creative midfielder Darren Beardow will be at the heart of the Blues' attack.

Beardow's battle with in-form Byron midfielder Todd Knaus will be one of the many personal duels being waged all over the paddock, in a match that promises to be fast-paced, entertaining and above all, close.

Maclean's clash with Stars also promises to be played at break-neck pace, with both sides favouring fast attacking raids at every opportunity.

The Bobcats are in great form, smashing in 19 goals in their last four games and with a full-strength side playing on home soil, will go in as favourites against the talented but erratic Stars.

Striker Daniel Fung has scored two goals in each of the Bobcats last four outings and his combination with Grant Nielson and Kevin Crofton threatens to end Stars' remote hopes for consecutive premiership titles.

No Seaside Jaunt for Rovers

The return of attacking midfielders Ian McGregor and Brett Lane will bring Richmond Rovers to full strength for their crucial trip to Ballina, when they take on the Seahorses at Saunders Oval on Saturday from 5pm.

Rovers are looking to consolidate a place in the top three, while Ballina needs a win to make up the three point gap that separates them from the top five.

The seasiders are also expected to be at full strength and with both sides in good form, it looms as an unpredictable encounter.

Ballina has won three of their last four games, striker Troy Percival leading the way with a swag of goals, while Rovers have won their last two games and look to be poised for their usual strong second-half of the season.

The Full Ninety

Both Alstonville and Casino squandered half time leads before going down against the top two sides last week, leaving both determined to put in a 90 minute effort to clinch three valuable points in their encounter at Casino's Colley Park from 3pm on Saturday.

Villa had competition leader Byron Bay down 1-0 at the break but lost the plot in the second half to go down 3-1, while Casino had second-placed Maclean in trouble with a 2-1 half time lead, only to stumble to a 4-2 loss.

Casino are expecting striker Nathan Scully back to bring the Cobras to full strength, while Villa are carrying several players with niggling injuries and have midfield powerhouse Dean Klower out with a knee ligament tear, making Casino slight favourites on paper.

The Cobras must win to keep their faint semi-final hopes flickering, while Villa are still in the relegation danger zone.

Hornets Looking for Old Sting

Goonellabah's proud achievements during the 90s have become a distant memory, with the Hornets standing at the relegation crossroads on the eve of Saturday's clash with South Lismore at Oakes Oval from 3pm.

The Hornets won five premiership titles during the 90s and earned a reputation as one of the most feared sides in the premiership, but the new millennium has brought new problems, leaving the once-proud club on the bottom of the ladder and the only side still without a win in 2001.

Souths are the nearest side to Goonellabah on the ladder, but with the Hornets trailing the Celtics by six points, nothing short of a win is needed to revive thoughts of survival.

Their first round encounter ended in a 4-1 win for Souths, but coach Robbie Venn is confident the Hornets are "coming together" and can reverse the result.

Venn will field a full strength side with the exception of Craig Thornycroft, who was sent off in last week's 1-0 loss to Workers.

Souths also lost last week, going down 3-1 to Rovers, leaving the Celtics equally determined to ease their own relegation fears, in a match that looms as an early grand-final for both.

Top of the Table Clash

Workers Purple goal shooter, Kylie Restall, jumps for another lob. Workers Purple were defeated 52-34 by Rous 2 in the Lismore District Netball Association Premier Division.Workers Purple goal shooter, Kylie Restall, jumps for another lob. Workers Purple were defeated 52-34 by Rous 2 in the Lismore District Netball Association Premier Division.

The Lismore district netball association will see a top of the table clash in the premier division this weekend when Cecil meet Daleys at the Marie Mackney courts at 2.05pm.

It will be a battle of two different styles as Cecil have the best defensive record in the competition and Daleys the best attack statistics.

Daleys took care of Woodlawn Falcons 49-23 last weekend while Cecil had a harder time earning their 43-27 victory over Daleys Reps.

Cecil goal defence Kerry Gooley will be marking up against Maria Durheim which will be a fantastic contest. Daleys should have a slight edge and just win in what will certainly be an extremely entertaining game.

Southern Cross University Lab Rats should have a win over Woodlawn Falcons when the two meet at 1pm although if Lab Rats lose a lot of players due to the university games it could well be a different story.

Lab Rats took care of clubmates Terra Rats 61-17 and another win this weekend will greatly increase their chances of making the top division after the cut.

Terra Rats will play Rous 2 at 2.05pm this Saturday in a game that Rous should take reasonably easily, especially if the students are missing players.

Rous 2 had a good 52-34 win over Workers Purple last weekend, Mandy Lisetto again the stand out player for Rous 2.

Workers will have to cut down on the lobs and play more definite attacking netball if they want to give Rous 1 a decent contest this Saturday at 3.10pm. Workers simply didn't come forward enough against Rous 2, handing the opposition numerous opportunities to steal the ball. Unless they alter their style of play Workers will be in for a big loss against Rous 1.

Rous 1 went down to Breakaways 40-30 last weekend and Breakaways should have another victory this weekend when they take on Pink Panthers Comets at 1pm. Breakaways are one of the top teams of the comp and the only team who has managed to best them so far this season is Daleys. Comets are languishing near the bottom of the table and just won't be strong enough to defeat Breakaways. Comets just didn't have enough against Daleys Reps last weekend, beginning strongly but eventually losing to Reps 52-18.

In the final game of the weekend Daleys White take on clubmates Daleys Reps at 3.15pm on Saturday. White played very well against Cecil last weekend and although they lost it was a tight game. If White can maintain their composure against Reps it should be another hard fought, highly competitive game. Reps should get up but expect a great game of netball.

Netballer of the Year

Hayley McAnelly from Daleys Reps, Kerry Gooley of Cecil and Chloe Duncan from Breakaways are all challenging for the lead in The Echo Netballer of the Year competition after they each received points last weekend taking them all to equal second on 15 points.

Emily Cooper, from Daleys White, is still in the lead but for the first time this year didn't receive any points last weekend.

The season's eventual top scorer will receive a weekend for two at the luxurious Watermark hotel on the Gold Coast, courtesy of The Echo.

18 - Emily Cooper (Daleys White)
15 - Chloe Duncan (Breakaways), Hayley McAnelly (Daleys Reps), Kerry Gooley (Cecil)
14 - Linda Ball (Rous 1),
13 - Kate Hilard (Daleys), Sarah Cowan (Breakaways), Catherine Edmonds (Daleys Reps).

Firebirds Flock to Northern Rivers

Young netballers living in the Northern Rivers region will have an opportunity to meet and learn from some of Australia's top players in a Skill Development Clinic being conducted by the NSW Department of Sport and Recreation in the July school holidays.

Queensland Firebirds Captain and former Australian team member Sharon Finnan along with Firebirds team mates Karen Wright and Melanie McKenzie, will accompany North Coast Academy of Sport Coach Tracey Robinson to deliver this fun filled netball clinic.

General skill development in all areas of Netball play will be covered at the clinic on Tuesday, July 17. Techniques used by the Academy and Firebirds will be used to develop play skills and offer players tips to improve their netball. All girls aged 12 to 16 years are invited to attend by enrolment.

For further information or to enrol in this exciting clinic please contact your local Netball Association or Lismore Netball on 6621 6483 or 6621 2038.

Swans Wing it to Nimbin

The Summerland Australian Football League game of the weekend will be played at the Nimbin Showground this Saturday at 2pm. The Nimbin Demons will host the Lismore Swans in what could be a very close game.

After a week off with a bye see the home side should field a strong squad in front of their home crowd, and with more than 300 people watching their last home game the Demons will want to use that to their advantage.

The Lismore Swans bounced back to good form this week when a solid team effort saw them crush the Grafton Tigers at Goonellabah. The Swans won 30.16.196 for a club record high score to Grafton's 6.3.39. Full forward Matty Moore scored a record 13 goals while Coach Darren Anderson booted 5 and President Roly Barrett scored 4.

Swans' ruckman Luke Meldrum was devastating as he dominated the ball-ups all game to feed centremen Nathan Condon and James Howard. Playing only 16 a side, the Swans' defence was also superb, as they only allowed Grafton 2 goals and 2 behinds in the first half while the Swans scored 20 goals 6 behinds.

The Swans lost Jeff Sewell for at least two weeks, just before halftime, after a brave effort saw him injure some ribs. This will be a sore loss as Lismore will also be without 14 players this week due to the University holiday break.

Although they will still field a side it will be very undermanned and they may struggle to contain the Nimbin Demons at Nimbin if the home side gets the early lead.

Lismore may well be in for a real run for their money.

The Ballina Bombers travel to Grafton to play the Grafton Tigers.

With strong performances at home this season, including a win over Ballina in the first game, Grafton will want to give their supporters something to cheer about. They always find something extra in the fuel tanks when at home and are a chance of an upset against the higher placed Ballina.

Ballina will want to avenge their last loss at Ellem Oval Grafton and look for the points when they tackle the Tigers this Saturday at 2pm.

The Ballina Bombers 5.19.49 went down to Byron 10.6.66 last weekend.

The season is now half gone and the reigning Premiers Byron go to a bye still undefeated and on top of the ladder.

SAFL Ladder after round 10: Byron 32, Lismore Swans 20, Ballina 16, Grafton 8, Nimbin 4.

Cougars Take on Rams

Casino face the difficult task of trying to subdue Marist Brothers at 3pm at Oakes Oval this Sunday if they are to stay in touch with the top five of the Group One Rugby League ladder.

Casino kept their finals chances alive with a 28-24 win over the Grafton Ghosts last weekend but Brothers at home are a very difficult prospect. Brothers had a harder game than expected against the Red Devils last Sunday but won 22-8 and it should be a similarly sized victory for Brothers against the Cougars.

Ballina will have South Grafton to visit this Sunday in what should prove to be the closest game of the weekend. Both the Seagulls and the Rebels have enjoyed highly successful seasons this year and sit in second and third positions on the ladder. South Grafton smashed Mullum 46-14 last weekend but Ballina have the home advantage and will probably win in a tight, exciting game.

Workers are off to Mullum to take on the Giants this weekend. Workers demolished Kyogle 64-0 last Sunday and a similar performance against the Giants will see a similar result.

Kyogle are at home against the improved Byron Bay this Sunday. Byron have put in solid performances on the field over the last two weeks against Brothers and Ballina and the Red Devils are looking like a much better side than they did in the earlier part of the season. Kyogle, in contrast, still look like a bunch of Turkeys and will have a Devil of a time against Byron.

Training Run

The Telstra Premiership Rugby League Road Train will be visiting Lismore this Thursday.

For your chance to win prizes, and to view the latest National Rugby League technology and record your 'View from the Bush', be there.

You'll have a chance at appearing on Channel Nine's Footy Show, as well. Head to Oakes Oval today, Thursday June 28 between 11am and 2pm.

Workers Take Top Spot

Workers won both of their games last weekend to take the lead in the Soccer FNC Women's First Division.Workers won both of their games last weekend to take the lead in the Soccer FNC Women's First Division.

Workers have overtaken Rovers to head the table of the Soccer Far North Coast women's first division after wins over Maclean and Southern Cross University last weekend.

Workers defeated Maclean 5-0 and SCU 2-0 while Rovers 4-1 win over Woodburn means they now sit in second spot but with two games in hand.

This weekend Woodburn play Maclean in the southern derby at Woodburn at 7pm on Friday. The hapless Woodburn are still yet to win a game and Maclean should win easily.

Rovers take on a very depleted Uni lineup at 10.30am at Nielson Park this Sunday. With a number of players away at the Uni games and for holidays Rovers should have no trouble winning this one.

In the final game of the weekend Workers play Maclean at Richards Oval at 11am on Sunday. Workers won easily when these two met last weekend and the result should be similar for this game.

Girls Soccer Camp

The NSW Department of Sport and Recreation and FNC Soccer have teamed up to provide a holiday opportunity for girls on the north coast.

The 'Go Girls Soccer Camp' is a residential and non-residential camp for girls aged 10-16 which will be held at the Lake Ainsworth Sport and Recreation Centre on July 15-17..

FNC Soccer will use this camp as an opportunity to identify some talented female players and to include these girls in a subsidised talent development program later in the year.

For those children attending the camp as a residential participant, the cost will be $115 per person while the non-residential fee is $55 per person.
