The massive dream boat lantern spewed forth fireworks as thousands of children cheered in unison, happily watching as six weeks of hard work by more than 20 volunteers went up in smoke.
But the happiest person on the night would have to be the parade's coordinator, Jyllie Jackson.

"After the effort I saw the volunteers put in I've decided to call them the dream team - in a short space of time with minimal resources what they achieved was nothing short of miraculous," Jyllie said.

"And it was the people who turned out in abundance that made the night so special. Admittedly there were some crowd control issues. If funding permits, we'll have a raised stage next year so everyone can see properly. Finally I'd just like to thank the staff at Lismore City Council and all the CBD businesses who opened on the night - your contributions are greatly appreciated."
