Winner of the 1989 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Award, Milton Budge recently returned to Evans Head after spending time promoting his art in Sydney during the Olympic Games.

Tibet in Australia: Green Goddess Mother Tara by Karma Phunstock

Tibet in Australia: Green Goddess Mother Tara by Karma Phunstock

Complementing this indigenous show, is Tibet in Australia, by locally-based Tibetan artist Karma Phunstock. He portrays Buddhist culture as it has been assimilated into Australian culture. The works have a richness of colour, with a formal and balanced structure that gives viewers an hypnotic sense of calmness.

The shows run until March 4. Entry to the Gallery is by donation.
