Amazing Youth
All manner of feelings and experiences, from surfing to being a young person, metaphysics and the meaning of life, are explored in Trinity Catholic College’s annual student art exhibition, aMUSEing ART, which opens next Tuesday. The exhibition comprises students’ works from years seven to 12 as well as HSC major works created over the last year. “aMUSEing ART is all about visual communication,” said art teacher, Jay Foley. “Some people communicate with words and texts but the students are talking with images, signs and symbols. Not only do we see the aesthetics and get a strong appreciation for beauty but through these powerful visuals we get an insight into the students’ different perspectives on the world and the issues and feelings they face.” The exhibition opens on Tuesday, August 22 from 6.30-9pm at the St Mary Site Hall, where people can talk to the students and enjoy some of their cooking while listening to some. The exhibition will also be open on Wednesday and Thursday, August 23-24 from 9.30am-8.30pm.
