Christine Robinson's new exhibition includes artworks 'Up to No Good' (left) and 'The Ensemble' A new solo exhibition by award-winning local artist Christine Robinson, entitled The Crow's Return, will go on show at the Nimbin Regional Gallery from next Tuesday, December 27. Christine, who lives at Mt Burrell, is a former winner of the Coraki Tea Tree Art Prize and has had many solo exhibitions around the region, often featuring her trademark - cats. She says the cats are often symbolic of people or our inner selves, but are also often just cats. "I play with colour and texture while waiting to see what images emerge," Christine said. "The themes are of family, relationships and their environment, and the integration of these into a whole." The Crow's Return will be on show at the gallery daily from 10am to 4pm until January 15. During the holidays why not enjoy the spectacular drive out to the hills of Nimbin and check out one of region's most prominent and respected artists. You certainly won't miss the venue - it's the brightly-coloured rainbow building in Nimbin's main street, opposite the Information Centre. |
