Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit

Directed by Nick Park and Steva Box

Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-RabbitWallace and his ever-faithful dog Gromit are cashing in with their humane pest-control outfit Anti-Pesto.

Fans of the delightful duo Wallace and Gromit rejoice! Your favourite inventor and his faithful companion have at last made it to the big screen in their first full-length feature film Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.

It has taken five years but this stop-motion clay animation has definitely been worth the wait and could easily see Nick Park walking away with his third Oscar.

This time around Wallace (voiced by actor Peter Sallis) and his loyal hound Gromit are riding high on the success of their humane pest control service, "Anti-Pesto."

The village's annual Giant Vegetable Competition is rapidly approaching and it's up to our two intrepid heroes to protect the oversized vegies from all the rascally rabbits eager to devour it.

Their compassionate form of vermin control scores them big brownie points with the kindly Lady Campanula Tottington (Helena Bonham-Carter) but doesn't impress the pompous Lord Victor Quartermaine (Ralph Fiennes) who is more your huntin', shootin', fishin' and killing anything that moves type.

Unfortunately for Wallace and Gromit they soon have a major problem on their hands and paws. Not only is their cottage overflowing with bunnies, but there's a terrifying monster on the loose steadily chomping its way through each piece of potentially prize-winning produce.

I'm a massive fan of Wallace and Gromit, especially Gromit, who, let's face it, is the real brains behind the operation. I've been eagerly awaiting their big screen debut for ages and for once my expectations have been realised. This is a gem of a film suitable for youngsters and the young-at-heart.

It's ever so delightfully British, full of cheeky humour and clever nods to classic films such as King Kong and Frankenstein. The stop-motion animation is faultless, the action non-stop and the characters priceless.

Highly recommended!
