A 45-year-old Kyogle man, Noel David Bell, has been arrested and charged after
police found $75,000 worth of cannabis at two properties in the Wiangaree area
last Wednesday. During a search of the properties police seized 22 pounds (10
kilos) of dried cannabis, 16 plants from a hydroponic set up, 395 grams of seed
and a substantial amount of cash. The arrest was part of a coordinated operation
by the Richmond Local Area Command, who expect further arrests will be made.
A 43-year-old homeless man will appear in Lismore Local Court on July 5 after
he allegedly threatened the owner of the Caltex Service Station in Dawson Street,
Lismore, with a metal bar and stole cigarettes and a number of other items. Peter
Sidney Bridgeman appeared in Lismore Local Court on Monday, where he claimed he
was not robbing the service station because he owned every Caltex Service Station
in the world. The man was taken to Richmond Clinic but was not admitted after
staff said they did not have the appropriate security facilities to treat him.
Bridgeman has been remanded in custody until his appearance in early July and
a full psychiatric report is being prepared.
A 51-year-old Lismore man was arrested around 4pm on Sunday after he ran into
a parked car while under the influence of alcohol in Simeoni Drive, Goonellabah.
The man recorded a PCA of 0.270.
An 18-year-old Lismore man was taken to Lismore Base Hospital on Sunday night
with serious injuries after he was allegedly set upon by several teenagers aged
between 15 and 18. The man had left a party and was walking in the grounds of
Southern Cross University when he had an altercation with the group of youths.
He was then chased, bashed and robbed by the youths. He sustained a serious cut
to the head and major bruising, and is now in a stable condition. The youths were
seen leaving the area in a vehicle of unknown description. Any information to

Lismore Police Station is trying to find the owner of a fuel tank belonging
to a small boat, a CB radio and life vest, which were all handed in this week.
The property was found in High Street, Lismore, around 6pm on Monday night. The
property can be claimed on correct identification and description, and people

Police are seeking information following the theft of two rare mandolins and
a box of personal effects from property on the Channon Road, The Channon, between
4pm Friday and 4pm Monday. The two mandolins, valued at $2100, were a 'Kentucky'
flat-backed bluegrass mandolin and a very rare 'Hallett' banjo-mandolin made in
1920, which has a chrome metal neck, a metal skin and wooden back. Any information

Businesses are being urged to be wary after a counterfeit $50 note was used
in Nimbin on Monday. It follows the arrest of a woman in Lismore last week who
had four counterfeit $50 bills.
Police are seeking information following the theft of a large amount of expensive
household goods and appliances from a house in Dunoon Road, Lismore, between 10am
