The large community of artists in Nimbin valley will be showcasing their talents this month in the annual Autumn Arts Exhibition, which opens this Saturday, April 9, at the Nimbin School of Arts. The exhibition has become one of the major cultural events for Nimbin artists since it began eight years ago, featuring the works of more than 100 of Nimbin's fine artists, craft workers, designers, photographers, fibre artists, weavers and installation artists. The exhibition involves the School of Arts auditorium, stage and studios, as well as the Nimbin Artists Gallery, so you can wander through various exhibition spaces and discover the many creative wonders the small village has to offer. This large-scale spectacle of vibrant, colourful and diverse art and craft is always run through the April school holidays, giving the hundreds of visitors who flock there a chance to see Nimbin's unique artistic culture on display. The Autumn Arts Exhibition is open daily from 10am to 4pm until April 25. Entry is free and there will be daily grand piano and other music recitals during the exhibition.
