From beautiful seascapes of the east coast to the red soils of central Australia and the lush green rainforests of the Northern Rivers, the Kolinda Gallery's annual Easter Exhibition is a wonderful ode to nature's finest creations. While the exhibition is by no means restricted to nature-related artworks, once again the beauty of Australia's vast and varied landscapes has been the inspiration for many of this year's works. The exhibition is the Kolinda Gallery's annual showcase of modern Australian art, and whatever your tastes - from the bold oil paintings of Ken Taber to the soft pastels of local art identity Margaret Brown - there is always something to delight and inspire. "Exhibiting works by bigger name artists such as Joseph Zbukvic, Graham Cox and John Lovett gives local people the chance to see artworks they'd normally only see in the city, while the pool of talented locals here have created a collection of North Coast art we can all be proud of," said gallery manager Andrew Chung. "Whether you're a local art lover or you've got visitors coming to the Northern Rivers for Easter, this is a great chance to visit Alstonville and see some beautiful traditional and contemporary art." The Easter Exhibition is on show until April 18. The Kolinda Gallery is on the highway as you drive into Alstonville, and is open Wednesday to Sunday from 10am-5pm. The gallery will be closed on Good Friday. |
