A 26-year-old Ballina man has been charged with malicious damage, offensive language, resisting arrest and refusing to leave a licensed premises after an incident at a Ballina hotel around 3.40pm last Wednesday. After being asked to leave the hotel the man became aggressive and refused to leave. Whilst being escorted from the premises he head butted a glass window in River Street, causing it to crack, before walking a short distant and head butting another window, which he smashed. When Police arrived the man began cursing and a short struggle ensued before he was arrested. He will appear in Ballina Court later this month.

Police are seeking information in relation to a break and enter that occurred in Pineview Drive, Goonellabah, between 9am and 5pm last Wednesday. The offender/s stole stereo equipment, a computer monitor, and a play station that belonged to a 22-year-old female. Any information to Lismore Police on 6623 1599.

A 31-year-old Lismore man has been charged after he was caught drink driving in Goonellabah around 12.25am last Thursday. Police discovered the man was also disqualified from driving until 2008. He recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.185.

A 23-year-old Wollongbar male and a 25-year-old Wagga Wagga female were charged with negligent driving, speeding and driving whilst unlicensed around 7.45pm on Sunday night. Police sighted the 2003 Holden commodore speeding and whilst following the vehicle saw the pair change seats while driving. Both drivers were unlicensed.

Police are reminding residents to be mindful of noise at all times of the day or night after a 30-year-old Lismore woman was issued with a warning for excessive noise around 9.15pm on Sunday night. She was issued with the warning for playing loud music at a North Lismore premises.

Two teenagers aged 14 and 16 have been charged with stealing a motor vehicle, drink driving and various other traffic offences after a Police chase through Lismore around 1am on Sunday morning. The youths stole a 1995 Ford sedan from Janice Court in Goonellabah and were sighted by Police whilst speeding along Hindmarsh Street. Police began following the vehicle, which was travelling at speeds of up to 110kph. Police chased the offenders for around 15 minutes before the vehicle stopped in the backyard of a home in Beardow Street, where the two youths were arrested.

Police are reminding boat owners to secure their valuables following three recent incidents where marine equipment has been stolen. The first saw a fish finder and marine radio valued at $500 stolen from an address in Westlands Place, Ballina, between 10.30pm Sunday night and 8am Monday morning. An outboard motor valued at $800 was also stolen from an unattended vessel in Northcott Drive, Alstonville, between 1.30am and 7am on Sunday morning. Meanwhile, thieves attempted to steal a boat and trailer from a yard in Simpson Parade, Casino, between 11.30am and 12.30pm on Monday. Two teenagers aged 13 and 15 have been charged with stealing a motor vehicle, other traffic offences and breaching bail following a Police chase outside Lismore early on Tuesday morning. The youths were sighted in a stolen 1967 Holden HR sedan on the Bruxner Highway near Bunnings and were chased by Police down Caniaba Road, Gores Road, Naughtons Gap Road, Bentley Road and into Three Chain Road, reaching speeds of up to 110kph. After a 25-minute pursuit the two teenagers lost control of the vehicle near Lismore Lake and were arrested.

Police are seeking information following a break and enter at Eric Box Mitsubishi in Casino between 9.45pm on Monday and 7.50am on Tuesday. Offenders smashed a window to enter the caryard, stealing a 1996 Pajero, a box trailer, ride on mower, tools and the company safe containing cash and office papers. The offenders forcibly removed the safe using an angle grinder, before loading it into the trailer they had attached to the stolen vehicle. Police are now seeking information from anyone who may have seen a silver coloured 1996 Mitsubishi 4WD with NSW rego BIG-301 towing a dark grey coloured box trailer. It was possibly travelling southbound along the Summerland Way on Tuesday morning. Any information to Casino Police on 6662 0099.
