Police are seeking public assistance following the theft of $5000 worth of goods from a campsite at Patches Beach, South Ballina, between 9am and 10.15pm last Wednesday. Items stolen included a camp fridge, generator, mobile phone, two fishing rods and reels. Any information to Ballina Police on 6681 8699.

Three teenagers have been charged after they allegedly attacked a 17-year-old pizza delivery girl near Casino's Colley Park on January 29. The girl was punched in the face and had her bag and other personal items stolen. The girl received a laceration to her face and severe shock. Two 16-year-old males and a 15-year-old male were charged with robbery and causing actual bodily harm in relation to the incident. They will appear in the Casino Children's Court on February 23.

Police arrested and charged a 24-year-old man for malicious damage last Wednesday after he smashed a window at Nimbin Caravan Park. After being refused accommodation the man became agitated with a female staff member and punched a nearby window. He left the scene, but was found by Police a short time later in nearby grassland.

A 46-year-old motorcyclist from Pimlico was arrested and charged with unlicensed driving on Friday afternoon after Police stopped him in River Drive, South Ballina.

A 24-year-old Ballina man was arrested and charged with drink driving in the early hours of Saturday morning, after he recording a blood alcohol reading of 0.080. His licence was suspended immediately.

A 25-year-old Alstonville man was arrested and charged early on Sunday morning after recording a blood alcohol reading of 0.080. He was stopped at the intersection of Bugden Lane and Commercial Road, Alstonville. His licence was suspended immediately.

Police arrested and charged an 18-year-old Ballina man around 2.45am on Sunday morning after he was seen swerving along the Bruxner Highway near Alstonville. The man was later found to be unlicensed.

A 38-year-old Dubbo man was arrested and charged with stealing and drink driving in Ballina on Sunday. The man allegedly stole a vehicle from Tweed Heads and drove it to Lismore and then onto Ballina. Police caught the man after various reports from the public, which stated that the man was driving near Alstonville in a dangerous manner, often weaving across double lines and colliding with guard rails. When arrested around 11.50am on Sunday, Police recorded a high range PCA of 0.215 and discovered the driver was unlicensed.

Police are looking for witnesses after a number of vehicles were stolen and damaged in the Alstonville area over the weekend. Police are looking for assistance with the following crimes:

  • A 1990 Holden sedan was stolen from a driveway in Alston Avenue between 4 and 4.30am on Sunday morning. It was later recovered around 5am on Wardell Road.
  • A 1991 Holden station wagon was broken into between 6pm Saturday and 9.50am Sunday in Tanamera Drive. The offender/s smashed a rear window and rummaged through the car's contents.
  • A digital camera and sound system were stolen from a Holden sedan in Cooke Avenue. The offender/s attempted to steal the vehicle, which was found 60 metres down the road.
  • A 1989 Holden station wagon was stolen from Coral Street between 10pm Saturday and 8am Sunday.
  • Offender/s attempted to steal a 1992 Holden sedan from Tanamera Drive around 4.30am on Sunday.

Police arrested and charged a 37-year-old Lismore man with offensive language and intimidation after a number of incidents in Anstey Street, Girrards Hills, on Monday night.
