Today, Ashley is an Artist in Residence at Luna Park in Sydney, where he is producing murals and other forms of public art, while Mick recently exhibited a collection of recent work at the Sydney Opera House. Both artists have also exhibited regularly with the prestigious Ray Hughes Gallery in Brisbane and Sydney. The Furniture Show Revisited traces each artist's development from the time they graduated in 1982 through to the present day, with many works sourced from private collections for the show.
"Twenty years ago, The Furniture Show was the culmination of our time as local art students with promise," Ashley said. "The furniture theme also includes interiors and still life, which can be found in most of the various artistic diversions we have taken along the way." The Furniture Show Revisited opens at the gallery tonight, September 30, from 6pm. The exhibition is on show until October 30. |
