Lismore Police arrested three people last Wednesday night for mid-range drink driving offences. At 10.25pm, police stopped a 1984 Holden station wagon in Cynthia Wilson Drive, Goonellabah for an RBT. The female driver gave reading of 0.125 later on at the station. At 12.05am, a 35-year-old Lismore man was arrested in Bridge Street, for driving his 1993 Mitsubishi Triton with a reading of 0.105. At 1.40am a 42-year-old Lismore man was arrested in Leycester Street, for driving his 1985 Ford sedan with a reading of 0.095.

All three will appear in Lismore Local court on September 13

A $600 pushbike was stolen from a yard in Dress Circle Drive, Lennox Head, between 12.30am and 1:30am last Saturday. Numerous pushbikes have been stolen in the Lennox Head and Ballina areas recently.

Ballina Police are seeking information on malicious damage, estimated at $1000 to the front near-side mudguard of a 1996 Hyundai sedan parked in Martin Street, Ballina, between 3:30pm and 4pm on Tuesday. Contact Ballina police on 6681 8699.

Members of the Great Eastland Archers in North Lismore are concerned for public safety after more than six bows and six sets of arrows were stolen from the clubhouse on Sunday night. The thieves broke in some time between 5pm Sunday and 5pm Monday. Members say neighbours dogs were heard barking on Sunday night and they believe this may have been during the break-in.

A 15-year-old youth is facing charges over the theft of a laptop computer. On Tuesday at 3.10pm, Police received a tip off about two young males seen walking down the side of the of a two-storey brick premises in Wyrema Place, Goonellabah. Officers found the suspects, who are known are known to Police, in a laneway that connects Shearman Drive with Duke Street. One was allegedly carrying a black soft style brief case containing a laptop computer. The youth said he found it in the bushes. That evening Police received a call from the victims of a break and enter in Fischer Street, Goonellabah, where their $4500 laptop had been stolen. The youth was arrested for goods in custody. The other male was in possession of a single white sock and small change. Police enquiries are continuing.

Lismore Police are appealing for help and witnesses after a youth threatened a student at a Brewster Street bus interchange on Monday. Police say the attacker, described as a 15-16-years-old male of aboriginal appearance, wearing a dark top over red t-shirt, dark track pants, with a "number 4" style brown hair chubby appearance, confronted a male student at around 3.30pm, pushed the victim in the chest and demanded his mobile phone, threatening him with a metal handle. The victim repeatedly told him he didn't have a mobile, before his attacker left without injuring him. Any information to Lismore Police on 6623 1599.

Police are investigating a fire at a property on Cabbage Tree Island last Thursday. Two adults and nine children were evacuated from the house without injury, after it appeared that an electrical heater set fire to curtains in the lounge room at around 11.30pm. The Ballina fire brigade and Wardell Rural Fire Service attended the blaze, which caused an estimated $95,000 in damage.

Speeding by a P plate driver was just one a serious of dangerous driving offences detected by police on the weekend. On Saturday night at about 8.15pm Highway Patrol officers heading from Casino to Lismore on the Bruxner Highway witnessed at black Toyota Echo travelling overtaking at high speed on a crest marked with an unbroken line at McKee's Hill. Near Parrot's Nest Police recorded the car travelling at 154km/h. The P plate driver was fined $1597 for driving 45km/h over the limit and $130 for overtaking when unsafe $130.

On Friday evening a 27-year-old Queensland man was arrested in Keen Street Lismore for being a suspended driver and giving police a false name.

At 7.20pm Sunday night, an unlicensed 21-year-old Casino woman was issued with court attendance notices when she was found driving an unregistered vehicle. She'd already be caught in Grafton for the same infringements two hours earlier.

At 10.30pm on Saturday, Police arrested a 32-year-old Casino man on a Queensland road driving at 68kph in a 50 area. He was charged with middle-range PCA with a reading of 0.1.

About 1.48am on Friday, Police spotted a 1992 Ford Falcon travelling at 86km/h on Ballina Street, Lismore. The followed the car, which turned right into Dibbs Street and accelerated to 98km/h in the 50km/h zone. The driver was charged with high-range PCA with a reading of 0.16.

A 16-year-old Alstonville already on bail for break and enter offences was seen jumping a fence and trying to break into a Coral Street, Alstonville property at around 11am on Sunday. When challenged by witnesses he jumped the fence yelling abuse. The youth now faces additional attempted break and enter charges. as well as trespass offences.

A mobile phone, valued at $800, was stolen from the kitchen bench of a house in Pignat Place, Goonellabah on Saturday, between 5 and 6pm.

A 29-year-old Lismore man has lost his wallet, mobile phone and CDs, valued at $1173, after his 1965 Holden HD utility was broken into in the Brown Creek Car park some time between 11am and 12:30pm on Tuesday. Police remind motorists to remove valuables from parked cars.

Signs advertising local coffee on Bangalow Road at Clunes were damaged and stolen on Thursday, August 5, between 9pm and 6am. Any information, contact Lismore police on 6623 1599.
