Entitled By Degrees, the exhibition includes works by eight students - Gemma Canning, Natalya Garden, Fiona Goonan, Louise Hopping, Michelle Lewis, Kirsten Rickert, Rose Staff and Scott Trevelyan.
"The University studios offer students a chance to work side-by-side in a supportive and exciting environment," said an artist's statement from the group. "We're really enthusiastic about this opportunity to exhibit together after sharing a journey of learning and discovery over the last two and half years."
The exhibition features a mixed bag of etchings, silkscreens, monotypes, mixed media works and artist's books, which explore concepts of personal experience and identity as well as genre critiques. By Degrees is the first opportunity to see works by these emerging artists before their graduating exhibition in November. The exhibition is on show until July 7. Armistead's Gallery is at 43B Wyrallah Road, East Lismore. The gallery is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and Saturday from 10am to 1pm. |
