Originally from Switzerland but now residents of Cawongla, Trudy and Arnie established the Art Aspects Gallery eight months ago so they could promote the region's many fine arts and crafts people. With so many talented souls in the area it's no surprise that the gallery is jam packed with every type of art imaginable, from traditional oil and water colour paintings to jewellery, scarves, kitchen ware, sculptures, wood carvings, felt designs, mosaics and many other beautiful creations.
To keep the gallery fresh and diverse Trudi and Arnie continue to change what's on display, giving art lovers a reason to visit regularly for the ongoing transformation.
"Our kids left home and went back to Switzerland - we suddenly found ourselves with more time on our hands and wanted to do something for the whole community, not just ourselves," said Trudi. "There are lots of artists and creative people around the area and I think they are really happy to have a commercial outlet to show their artworks. It was a missing link in Lismore." The Art Aspects Gallery is at 104 Woodlark Street (just a couple of doors down from Mary Gilhooleys). It is open Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 5.30pm and Saturday from 10am to 1pm.
